This year's schoolwide theme is
"Lengthen Your Stride!"
Quick Reminders:
Drop-off. Parents -- please drop off ONLY on Altura Avenue in the designated drop-off lane, inside the orange cones.
Crosswalks. Please try to cross the streets when the crossing guard is also stopping traffic for our students and families. This will help ease the traffic situation around drop-off and pick-up time.
Writing checks. When paying for fundraising events or other school-related activities, please use only blue or black ink, as banks will accept only these colors.
Sunscreen reminder. Please remember to apply sunscreen on your child on warm days.
Every Friday is Spirit Day!
Show your school spirit by wearing your Lincoln gear or wearing red every Friday!

Readers, Send in Your Postcards!
Kids can enjoy the pleasures of reading all year round. To help encourage your child to read everyday, have them participate in Lincoln's Postcard Summer Reading Program. Kids can mail postcards to Mrs. Van Amburg at Lincoln each time they read a book (or have one read to them). Top readers will be recognized at September's flag ceremony. See the program flyer for full details ... and keep those postcards coming!
Sixth Grade Committee Needs Your Help
It's time to start thinking about next school year's 6th Grade Committee for the Class of 2010. The committee helps raise funds throughout the year to help send our 6th graders to camp and pay for many other fun activities. If you would like to help ensure that the Class of 2010 has an unforgettable final year at Lincoln, please volunteer to help the committee. Please see the 5th grade parents flyer for ways you can help, or email Sarah Kaufman or call her at (818) 249-1373 for more information.
PTA 2009-2010 Officers
At its March 4 meeting, the Lincoln PTA voted in a new slate of officers for the 2009-2010 school year. Please go to the PTA Page for the complete list of new officers.
Support Garden Club with a Personalized Stepping Stone
Brighten the Lincoln Native Plant Garden and support Lincoln's Garden Club by creating a personalized Garden Stepping Stone. Students, teachers, families and friends can make their own stepping stone to place in the campus garden, give as a gift or take home for their own garden. Choose from a large stepping stone for $20 or small stone for $12. See the Stepping Stone Flyer or email or call Sarah Hill at (818) 957-6590 for more information.

Help Keep Your Kids Active and Healthy
With our primary grades (first through third) now taking PE classes, parents can help reinforce the need to stay active and healthy by checking out Game Day Gazette, which provides information on PE activities at Lincoln and good physical activity practices in general.
Help Lincoln Go Green ... One Flyer at a Time
Lincoln parents can do their part to save trees by opting out of receiving paper copies of school flyers. Flyers will be available as attachments in the weekly e-bulletin and as links on this web site.
To participate, parents must take two steps:
1) Follow the instructions on the flyer that came home in the Thursday folders or click here to print a copy of the flyer.
2) Fill out the bottom portion of the flyer and return it to your student's teacher.
For more information or questions, email Usha Archer or call her at (818) 957-2710.
Come Join the Garden Club
