Message  from Principal Bill Card

We have special instructions for those going to our Foundation's pool party. We hope for the best on Friday for our weather. It has been warm for the last few days and we do not anticipate it changing. If anything, it could get warmer. Please keep in mind that the Foundation has lunch and many out-of-water activities planned for Friday. It is not a water only event. However, please come to the school Friday morning with your swimsuit, towel and appropriate water shoes for the park. Be sure and have your student bring sun screen and have the first layer already applied before coming to school. All pool party participants are to go immediately to the auditorium when they arrive at the school after 7:45 am. Do not go to your classroom nor to the lines on the blacktop. Again, go immediately to the auditorium. Do not bring backpacks with book and regularly used school items. There is no storage for them. Bring only your needs for the Pool Party.

Please pick up your student at 3:15 pm at the school on Altura. A special note to chaperones, please do not bring extra people, especially others that will need attention and care. We need your eyes for ours that are attending the event during this day.

Let me remind you now that Friday the 18th of June is a minimum day

Sikora Family Fund - Help for the Family of a Lincoln-Lifer
As many of you know, one of the families in our community suffered a devastating loss. Tyler Sikora, a Lincoln-Lifer, and an eighth-grader at Rosemont Middle School, died suddenly from cardiac arrest. His services were held recently and his family is in need of financial support for the many unexpected expenses. Montrose Church will be making a donation to the family from their "Compassion Fund". If you would like to help the Sikora family, please contribute online by going to
http://www.montrosechurch.org/onlinegiving (select Fund "2-Compassionate") or make your check payable to Montrose Church and mark it for the "Tyler Sikora" fund. Thanks for caring and thank you for helping a loving and caring family.

PTA Seeking Membership Chairperson
The PTA is looking for a nice person or group of people who would like to head up our Membership Drive next school year. You wont have to do it on your own, we just need someone to be in charge of it and keep it organized. If you are interested, please contact Christine Cassin at christineandgirls@msn.com

 Garden Helpers
Garden Helpers -- Lincoln has beautiful gardens, and we need adult volunteers to help care for the gardens. We are forming the Garden Helpers Group which will help plant and maintain the gardens at Lincoln. Once a month, we will meet for a few hours to do gardening tasks at Lincoln. We will also have a list of gardening tasks that can be done by Helpers at anytime. We can use your help to keep the gardens looking beautiful. Any amount of time is appreciated. If you are interested in being a Garden Helper, please contact Sarah Hill at (818) 957-6590 or sarahhill@pacbell.net. We will also have a Garden Helper Sign-Up in the Lincoln Office.

Yearbook
Students who purchased a yearbook will receive it the last week of school, probably the 16th.
Yearbook orders are closed - we are no longer accepting orders for yearbooks. If you did not pre-order, a limited number of yearbooks will be sold after school on Altura Ave. on the 17th & 18th. The cost is $15, please make checks payable to Lincoln PTA. Questions? Gina Wells 818-653-5305.

Lost & Found & Desperately Needing to Go Home
All items in the Lost & Found will be packed up next week and donated to a nice charity. Please put a note in your child's lunchbox and remind them to look through the Lost & Found area and find something that belongs to them. (Just an FYI - The school does not search through the Lost & Found and find names on property and then bring them to the child's class. No one does. It's just a pile that grows and grows as things are found. It is your child's responsibility to look through the area and locate their own property.)

End of the Year School Calendar 6/18
The last day of school is Friday, June 18th. This is a minimum day. All students will be dismissed at noon. Don't forget to check their backpack before you put it away for the summer, report cards will be sent home the last day of school.
