Message from Principal Bill Card - please read
Each year every school in California must prepare a School Accountability Report Card (SARC). Information related to the funding, programs, and academic achievement data is included along with the overall climate for learning at our school. You may access the 2008-09 school year information on the Internet at the following address http://www.gusd.net - click on Academics, then on Accountability Report Cards where each school is listed. The school office can also print a copy for you. Requests for translation of the School Accountability Report Card may be made through the school secretary. Additionally, the State of California School Accountability Report Card required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act is available for review online at the California Department of Education's website

New California Driving Laws for 2010
There are quite a few new and interesting changes to the California Driving Laws that went into effect in January. Did you know: if there is an emergency vehicle, with flashing lights, on the freeway (even a towtruck or a Caltrans vehicle) you must move over one lane. Did you know: video screens are not allowed to be visible to the driver of a vehicle. Did you know: some bicycles are not required to have seats (ouch!). Check out the attached flyer from CHP for specific information. (State of California)
The Montrose Library is offering Homework Help. Help is available Monday thru Thursday 3:30-6:00 pm. Download the attached flyer for more information. (Glendale Public Library sponsored activity)
Girls on the Run" at Lincoln will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:15 this spring season, starting February 24th! Girls on the Run combines training for a 5k (3.1 mile) non-competitive run/walk with an interactive curriculum to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. Trained coaches lead structured, fun lessons that combine discussion and activities. The program is for every girl in 3rd through 6th grades, regardless of fitness level, size or shape. There is a $150 program fee, but financial assistance is available and no girl is turned away because of inability to pay. Think you might like to participate as a volunteer assistant coach? Consider taking the training and joining us, whether or not you have a daughter who will participate in the program. The help is always welcome! Please look for the flier and registration form in the Thursday folders, check out the Girls on the Run website at www.gotrlosangeles.org, or contact Leah Castellana at
