BOX TOPS COLLECTION CONTEST - October 2-5
It all adds up! Bring your box tops labels to school and help your class win the contest. Each Box Top is worth a few cents, but many Box Tops bring cash to support Lincoln programs. Our goal is to raise $3,000!
INTERNATIONAL WALK TO SCHOOL DAY - Wednesday, October 7
All students are encouraged to walk to school on this day. Join a Walking School Bus from one of the following locations at the scheduled times:
7:40 New York and Honolulu (CV PARK-This will be the main Walking School Bus)
7:55 New York and Community
7:55 Dunsmore and Altura
7:55 Altura and Maryland.

Come join us in the cafetorium from 6:30-8:30PM and become an advocate for all our students.

Lincoln provides a rich English Language Development program for students who are acquiring English. Parents of our English Learners are encouraged to attend the English Learner Advisory Committee meeting at 6:00PM in the cafetorium to understand, guide, and support our school ELD programs.
PUMPKIN PATCH - OCTOBER 15-16
Buy your pumpkins from the Pumpkin Patch to support the 6th grade class. Dozens of pumpkins in a variety of sizes will be available. There will be games to play and prizes to win at this after school event.
RED RIBBON WEEK - OCTOBER 19-23
Activities during this week supports the national drug prevention program initiated by First Lady Nancy Reagan in 1980. Lincoln students focus on "Making Healthy Choices" throughout the week to maintain a healthy life style.
PICTURE MAKE-UP DAY - OCTOBER 22
Have your child retake his/her picture on this day if you do not like your child's picture.
HALLOWEEN PARADE and CULTURAL EVENT - OCTOBER 29
The morning begins with a costume parade on the playground. Parents are invited to enter through the Altura gate at 8:25 to watch the event. Students change out of costumes after the parade. Do not bring immitation weapons to school and please avoid using massive amounts of make-up. Students must be able to easily remove make-up.
FLAG CEREMONY - SOCTOBER 29, 2015
Students who are selected for Citizen of the Month are recognized at the monthly Flag Ceremony. Parents are notified if their student is receiving an award. Primary Grade Assembly: 10:30AM. Upper Grade Assembly: 1:20PM.
NO SCHOOL - OCTOBER 30
This is a professional learning day for teachers at all GUSD schools. EEELP is open for students enrolled in the program.

i-Ready Lessons - Online Lessons focused on Reading and Math Common Core State Standards
CONSTRUCTION BEGINS SPRING 2016!
The construction of a one story building begins in 2016. Six of the older bungalows located on the large playground will be replaced with 6 state of the art classrooms. Measure S and a state Overcrowding Relief Grant will fund the project. Completion is expected by Summer, 2017.
